Victoria, wife of Nigeria’s first Head of State, Major General J. T. U. Aguiyi-Ironsi, is dead.
Victoria passed away in the early hours of Monday. She would have clocked 98 on November 21, 2021.
Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi seized power during a national chaos following the January 15, 1966 military coup.
He became the Supreme Commander of the National Military Government and was killed on July 29, 1966 during a counter coup.
Victoria, who never re-married, died two weeks after the demise of Hadiza Shagari.
The wife of former President Shehu Shagari gave up the ghost after battling with COVID-19 complications.
Hadiza died at the Gwagwalada Isolation Center in Abuja, her grandson, Bello Shagari, disclosed.
