In a significant boost to education in Delta State, Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, has announced full scholarships for 90 students across the senatorial district.

The initiative is aimed at supporting academically promising students and easing the financial burden on families within the region.

The announcement was made during the Delta North APC meeting held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Idumuje-Ugboko, the senator’s hometown.

The gathering brought together party stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from across the nine local government areas that make up Delta North.

Senator Nwoko declared that the scholarship program would cover tuition and all academic expenses for a period of four years.

Each of the nine local government areas in Delta North will benefit equally, with 10 students from each LGA selected for the opportunity.

“I want our future generation to be equipped with the tools they need to succeed,” Senator Nwoko stated during the announcement.

“This scholarship scheme is one of my ways of investing in the potential of Delta North youths and ensuring they have a solid foundation through quality education.”

He urged party leaders and local community heads to be transparent and fair in the selection process, emphasizing the need to choose candidates based on academic merit and financial need.

The senator also stressed the importance of education in driving long-term development in the region.

Party members and local leaders welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm, describing it as a timely intervention.

Many praised Senator Nwoko for his commitment to youth development and his consistent efforts to uplift the educational standards in his constituency.

One party official from Aniocha North noted, “This is a commendable step by our senator. It shows he’s not just about politics but about real impact.”

Selected students will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation, books, and other academic-related expenses throughout their four-year study period.

With this initiative, Senator Nwoko continues to strengthen his reputation as a grassroots politician with a focus on education, empowerment, and sustainable development in Delta North.
