Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has described the death of renowned business magnate, Dr. Emmanuel Isichei Ugochukwu Ojei, popularly called Nuel Ojei, as a monumental loss to Anioma, Delta State and Nigeria at large.
Reacting to the passing of Dr. Ojei, who died at the age of 74 according to family sources, Senator Nwoko said in a statement issued in Abuja that the demise of the celebrated entrepreneur marked the end of a glorious era in Nigeria’s corporate landscape.
The Senator recalled that the late Dr. Ojei, an illustrious son of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, distinguished himself as one of the most outstanding personalities in Nigeria’s private sector, with decades of remarkable contributions to national economic growth.
Senator Nwoko noted that the deceased, who was the Founder and Chairman of Nuel Ojei Holdings (NOH), painstakingly built a formidable business empire with extensive investments in banking ,insurance, shipping, Oil and gas, construction, telecommunications and automobile industries .
He said these high-end ventures significantly shaped Nigeria’s economic development from the 1980s creating wealth and providing employment opportunities for thousands of Nigerians.
The federal lawmaker further stated that beyond his business accomplishments, Dr. Ojei would be fondly remembered for his moral greatness demonstrated through uncommon acts of kindness and mentorship that touched lives across the country.
“The passing of Chief Nuel Ojei has created a profound void in Nigeria’s socio-economic environment.He was a household name in corporate Nigeria . He would be remembered for his enduring legacy of enterprise, hard work and honest service to the nation.
He was also deeply committed to public charity, empowering a generation of Nigerians and building bridges across communities nationwide. Nigeria has lost a truly illustrious Anioma son.
