Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has told Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate that he must unite the party and sack Iyorchia Ayu as national chairman before the 2023 general elections.
Governor Makinde spoke on Wednesday in Ibadan the Oyo state capital when Atiku, his vice, Ifeanyi Okowa and other national PDP leaders stormed South west Nigeria for PDP South west summit.
While presenting the collective South west message to Atiku and his entourage, Governor Makinde said what plans to do for Nigeria, that is to unify the country, restructuring and others he should do first in the PDP.
Makinde, who was applauded for his bold stance, told the party’s presidential candidate that the national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu must step down so that the PDP in the south should be included in the top hierarchy of the party.
The decision of the governor has been the pursuit of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, who has Makinde, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state in his kitty.
