Strong PDP chieftain fears Obidient movement in Delta, says they’re difficult to swallow

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Delta state, Professor Patrick Muoboghare, has expressed fears over the massive movement of the Obidient family across Nigeria. Muoboghare, a former commissioner for higher education was recently sacked by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for     allegedly supporting Olorogun David Edevbie in the ongoing governorship battle in the state.

Professor Muoboghare in an interview with an online television, NOL24, anchored by Peter Legacy, said the Obidient movement in the state should not be taken for granted as though the members seem to be as needle in comparison to PDP members, they could dislodge the ruling PDP in the state.

According to him: “The needle is a very small object but extremely difficult to swallow. These Obidient people are very small objects but are extremely difficult to swallow. We will swallow them all the same but we may have to face surgery to remove the needle.

“So, let us be careful not to reach that end. This grandstanding by saying nothing can happen, who told you nothing can happen? We should fight against it from the very beginning.”

Professor Muoboghare’s fear may not be unfounded. He has seen the massive movement across states and the talk about Peter Obi in Delta. Everywhere in the state, the only name which has become a household name is Peter Obi.

He has never seen Nigerians supporting a candidate without being paid in such form as his party, the PDP does. He is heavily overwhelmed by the support base across states and the diaspora. Hence, he is afraid of the defeat of his party in Delta.

Barrister Kennedy Kanma, Delta North Labour Party Senatorial candidate

Delta is home to the PDP vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. Muoboghare said he would only accept 90 percent win for the PDP in the presidential poll and not anything 50 or 60 percent. However, he is afraid if his party could clinch that position considering the wave of the Obidient movement which is claiming many PDP faithful across states.

One fact which Muoboghare must have known but refused to accept which may be aiding his fears is that many PDP members are supporting the Obidient movement but because of their attachment to the PDP they cannot publicly campaign for Peter Obi and other Labour Party candidates. But on the election day the votes will show who they have actually been supporting.

The eyes of the people of Delta have been opened and they cannot afford to miss the opportunity of witnessing the economic boom that is coming along with the Peter Obi presidency. They have seen it and they know that it is time to embrace the new Nigeria government.

In Delta North, Barrister Kennedy Kanma is taking over the senate in the 2023 elections. The people are queuing behind him as it will be great to have people of like minds to form the new government Peter Obi will be putting together at the federal level.

The senate and members of the House of Representatives must not be people of diverse views. This will help in the quick realisation of the objectives of Peter Obi for Nigeria. So, Delta North has Barrister Kennedy Kanma representing Labour Party for the 2023 senate election.
