Blood donors have continued to troop into 44, Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, to donate free blood to victims of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train.
On Monday, terrorists attacked an Abuja-Kaduna train around Kateri-Rijana, wounding several passengers, after killing eight others on board.
The wounded passengers were taken to 44, Army Reference Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Daily Post correspondent, who visited the hospital on Thursday morning, observed that some blood donors are still coming to the hospital.
One of the donors, who arrived as early as 6.00am, on Thursday, Mr. Jonah Godwin, 21 years, said he was in the hospital to save lives.
“I heard the injured victims needed blood, and that the blood bank at the hospital wasn’t enough, so, I quickly rushed here to donate blood,” he said.
Also, Miss Juliana Samuel said she had been a regular blood donor at the National Blood Transfusion, Kaduna, just as she said she was ready to give out blood.
The correspondent who visited the accident ward 5, interacted with one of the victims, Alhaji Ibrahim Mustapha, who thanked God for saving his life.
According to him, he is feeling better, just as he thanked Nigerians for their prayers.
“I am indeed grateful to God for His loving kindness, especially, Kaduna people who showed us love by donating blood without immediate reward.
“Many came to donate because the blood at the blood bank was not enough for all of us. Many came in large numbers to donate blood,” he said.
As of the time of filing this report, DAILY POST observed that some blood donors were awaiting the medical laboratory technician to attend to them.
