The President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and hope as they celebrate the Christmas season, describing the period as a time for reflection and renewed commitment to national development.
In his Christmas message to Deltans, Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, and the wider sporting community, Ochei emphasized the enduring values of love, peace, sacrifice, and service that define the season.
He noted that despite prevailing challenges, the spirit of Christmas offers reassurance of brighter days ahead when citizens stand together with faith and shared purpose.
Speaking specifically on sports, the NTF president highlighted the role of tennis and other sporting activities in promoting discipline, teamwork, and unity, particularly among the youth.
He commended Nigerian athletes, coaches, administrators, and other stakeholders for their resilience and dedication, acknowledging their efforts in projecting the country positively on the global stage.
Ochei also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to support the less privileged, promote peace within their communities, and sustain hope for a stronger and more prosperous nation.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a joyful Christmas celebration and expressed optimism that the New Year would bring renewed strength, success, and greater opportunities for the country and its sporting sector.
