A section of Hausa quarters Line in Igbudu Market, Warri was engulfed by fire as goods and property worth millions of Naira was consumed by the raging fire on Sunday, August 16, 2020.
Chemist stores, book shops, groundnut oil stores, parking stores and property of residents living in the affected area were destroyed by the fire.
When our correspondent arrived the scene of the inferno at about 3.00 pm, traders and sympathizers were seen battling to put the fire under control.
It was gathered that men of the Delta State Fire Service, Warri arrived more than an hour after the fire started and it also took some time before they could access the road due to its narrowness before they could get to the scene of the inferno with the help of some mobile police men who also provided security during the fire incident.
The cause of the inferno was not immediately known but it was gathered that it was caused by a faulty electricity generating plant.
