Stakeholders of Ogwashi Uku community, headquarters of Aniocha South local government area weekend applauded the senatorial ambition of Barrister Kennedy Kanma who is contesting for the Delta North senatorial seat under the Labour Party.

Barrister Kanma was one of the contestants who were invited by the Ogwashi Uku community stakeholders to explain why they should be voted for in the elective office they are contesting for in the 2023 general elections. Members of the community who are contesting for elective positions were all invited to tell the community what they have to offer.

As Barrister Kanma was called to speak on his programmes and plans for Delta North, he spoke extensively, revealing the failures of the two ruling parties which have held the nation to the jugular for the past 23 years since 1999.

He revealed his six-point agenda for the Anioma people and why Delta North needed to vote a credible individual to represent the zone in the National Assembly. He said a trusted person who has the people at heart is needed at the red chambers.

He said from 1999 till date the parties that have ruled Nigeria have not met the need of Nigerians. According to him: “As government changes hands, Nigerians will be expecting improvement but rather than changing for the better, our leaders change for the worse. This has been the situation since then.”

He told the people he is contesting due to the state of the nation. He mentioned the failed economy, the security situation, the poverty and neglect of the less privileged and the abandonment of constituents after winning elections.

He also hinted on failed promises politicians make during campaigns. He told the leaders that he is contesting to join hands with Peter Obi to build a better and prosperous nation.

He said the nation is in a bad state and there is an urgent need for people of goodwill, people who have the mind of Nigerians to be voted into power.

He said the Labour Party has come to rescue Nigeria. At the mention of Labour Party, the people clapped their hands expressing happiness that a man who is keying into the vision of Peter Obi has emerged to take over the mantle of Delta North from the APC and the PDP.

The emergence of Barrister Kanma is changing the political landscape of Delta North as emerging facts are revealing that the Labour Party is gaining much ground in Nigeria and wide acceptance among the biggest voting population.

His speech generated one of the applauses for a man so much loved by his people. Across the nation, Labour Party is making wave, sending shivers into the spine of the ruling APC and its major opposition the PDP.

As complementary to the good wishes of Ogwashi Uku people, the community youths organised a rally for Peter Obi, Barrister Kanma and other candidates of the party in the area. The youths marched round the community, singing solidarity songs for all the Labour Party candidates.
