Barely 24 hours after prominent leaders from Delta North senatorial district, spoke on the prospects of 2023 gubernatorial ambition of former Minister of Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, Ughievwen youths, men and women have endorsed him to run for the exalted seat come 2023.

The youths under the aegis of Gbagi Grassroot Movement, under the leadership of Comrade Oke Emuesiri Ogah, on Sunday May 9, 2021, at his Oginibo residence, unanimously asked him to contest for the governorship following his philanthropic gestures towards them.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Ogah told the leading guber aspirant that has been tried, tested and proven himself with sterling leadership qualities and character to become governor of the state.

He said: “This time around, especially those of us from Otu-Jeremi axis said we are going to support Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi. Recently you gave out tricycles to youths. You are one of Urhobo illustrious sons that have been giving us support.

“You are not that kind of politician that we get there and begin to gather wealth for yourself. We believe that when you are there and we give you the full support, you are going to industrialize Delta state and that will lead to the creation of jobs for the youths and we are ready to work with you to the end”.

Speaking in an interview, the youth leader said: “I must let you know that Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi has been of good help to PDP since 1999 till date. He is one of the politicians that we have seen from Urhobo land that has not defected to any other party since the onset.

“Gbagi is someone of concern, Gbagi has the interest of Deltans at heart and he has been giving a lot of scholarships to the youths of Ughelli south especially Ughievwen kingdom. If the party gives him the ticket he will do more than he has done when he was outside government.

“I call on the youths, men, women, traditional rulers to queue behind Gbagi solidly”, Ogah said.

It would be recall that on Saturday May 8th 2021, the monarch to Akwukwu Igbo, Dr. Obi David Azuka, in Oshimili north local government area of the state, one of the respected leaders and renowned environmentalist, Dr. Newton Jibunoh, said Deltans would be fortunate to have the  entrepreneur as governor in 2023, declaring that he would industrialize the state.
