Voting is currently underway at Polling Unit 006 located at Obi’s Palace, Umumunna Amakwa, Ozubulu Ward 01 in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, as residents troop out to cast their ballots in the ongoing Anambra Governorship Election.
As of this morning, accreditation and voting commenced peacefully, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on ground alongside security personnel ensuring order at the polling unit.
Observers report that turnout has been encouraging, with voters arriving early to participate in the electoral process. Party agents from the major political parties were also seen monitoring proceedings closely.
No major incidents have been reported so far, and the voting process is proceeding smoothly with voters commending the efficiency of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
Residents expressed optimism that their votes would count, calling on INEC to ensure a transparent and credible collation process later in the day.
