Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta state, Friday Ovoke Warri, has charges members of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) to always take seriously their Community Development Service (CDS), and contribute their quota to the development and growth of areas of primary assignment.
The council chairman gave the charge Thursday while commissioning a water-jacking water pump project and the construction of a volleyball court at St. Michael’s College, Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South built by a member of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), George Godwin Nwankwo.
Warri, stated that his administration was poised to initiate more people oriented projects that will have direct impact on the lives of rural dwellers in the local government.
The council boss however admonished NYSC members on giving back to the people what belongs to them as a means of rekindling hope at the grassroots and give encouragement to the government to do more.
While thanking the NYSC member for his community-orientated projects, as part of his Community Development Service (CDS), Warri assured that his administration will complement his efforts in establishing life-touching projects in rural communities.
Warri maintained that the project aligned with his administration’s vision, ‘Warri, for your worries.’ and the administration is passionate about the welfare of the people and will always seek the best for them.
In his speech, the NYSC member, George Nwankwo with state code DT/24A/1333, thanked the council chairman for his efforts in alleviating the suffering of the people, noting that the chairman’s good works will continue to provide solutions to the suffering of the people at the local level.
Nwankwo explained that the purpose of the projects was to add to the infrastructure at St. Michael’s College, improving the educational and extra-curricular activities of the students and contributing positively to their academic performance.
A member of staff at St. Michael’s College, Oleh, expressed gratitude to the Nwankwo, saying the volleyball sport facility will expose students to different sporting activities apart from football and prayed for the Corps member’s future endeavors and the progress of the current administration as well as appreciating the council chairman for taking time to commission the CDS projects and his two million naira donation.
