NCS warns job seekers as fraudulent recruitment update circulates online
The Nigeria Customs Service has fired back at scammers peddling fake recruitment updates on social media—urging desperate job seekers not to fall for the bait.
Spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada, in a Thursday statement, declared that the viral post is 100% fake and did not originate from the service.
“Disregard the publication entirely,” Maiwada warned. “Only official NCS channels are credible.”
With 573,523 applicants jostling for just 3,927 vacancies from the December 2024 advert—and appointment letters still pending from 2025 exercises the desperation is real. And scammers are exploiting it.
