Team Delta has begun winning at the 2021 National Sports Festival holding in Benin City, the Edo state capital
The sports festival has undergone series of postponement from early 2020. It was also postponed in December 2020
But it finally started on Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Edo state capital. And as usual, Delta has begun amassing gold medals into its kitty.
The governor of the state, Ifeanyi Okowa had pledged N1m for any good winner in the sports festival.
In a post made by Sam Ijeh on his Facebook page, he said: “Team Delta begins medals haul:
Akiayefa Timi won our first swimming gold medal in 200m Butterfly, while Akiayefa Timipame-ere won gold in 200m women butterfly.
