There are strong indications that the kidnapped former commissioner in Delta state, Joan Onyemaechi alias Ada Anioma has allegedly been freed from captivity.
According to The TownHall, a credible online portal in Asaba, a reliable source hinted this afternoon that “as we speak there is wild jubilation at her hometown, Ubulu Uku in Aniocha South local government area of Delta State Nigeria following the news of her freedom. We have been praying for her release and God has answered us”.
It was gathered that the kidnappers demanded for a ransom of N1 billion but the newspaper says it could not ascertain whether it was paid before her freedom or not.
The source told the medium that Ada Anioma is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
Her alleged release is however yet to be confirmed by the police authorities as at the time of filing this report.
