Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and representative of Bayelsa West, has appointed three new aides to strengthen his political, administrative and strategic communication operations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, include veteran journalist and former Sun Newspapers editor Steve Nwosu as spokesperson, Sani Takori as a key member of the political and administrative team, and VinMartin Obiora Ilo as Chief Technical Adviser.
Dickson said the appointments were aimed at strengthening the operations and communication structures surrounding both his activities as NDC National Leader and his responsibilities as a serving senator.
Nwosu, a longtime associate of Dickson, brings more than three decades of experience in journalism, media administration, political communication and publishing. He has worked with major Nigerian newspapers including The Guardian and THISDAY, where he held several editorial positions.
He later joined Sun Newspapers at its inception as pioneer editor of Saturday Sun and subsequently became editor of Daily Sun. He also served as Executive Director, Corporate Services, and Deputy Managing Director and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Sun.
Nwosu is also known for his satirical column, FRANKTALK, and currently serves as Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Edibofa Communication and Publishing Limited.
Takori, a lawyer and politician from Zamfara State, has held several senior public positions, including Registrar, Magistrate, Solicitor-General, and Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
He was elected to the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007 and is described as a founding member of the NDC. He previously served as the party’s Protem National Secretary during its registration.
Ilo, the newly appointed Chief Technical Adviser, is a media executive, broadcast journalist and development and international relations expert with nearly four decades of professional experience.
An alumnus of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Ilo began his career with Radio Nigeria before joining Africa Independent Television, where he eventually retired as Director of Special Duties and South-East Operations.
He has also served as Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Enugu State and as a member of the Governing Board of the National Broadcasting Commission.
According to a statement issued by NDC National Publicity Secretary Osa Director, Dickson said Ilo and Nwosu bring professionalism, credibility and integrity to their new responsibilities, while Takori has extensive experience in public administration and politics.The NDC said the appointments form part of efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and communication ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
