As Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe celebrate Eid, public health expert and social advocate Dr Michael Nwoko has extended warm greetings to the Muslim community, urging Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.
In a goodwill message released to mark the celebration, Dr. Nwoko described Eid as a season that reflects the enduring values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith — principles he said are important across all religions and cultures.
“Eid Mubarak to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and across the world,” he stated. “I join you in celebrating this important season, which speaks strongly about sacrifice, obedience, and faith, values that resonate across all beliefs.”
Dr. Nwoko emphasized the importance of religious and cultural diversity in Nigeria, noting that differences should serve as a source of strength rather than division.
“Nigeria is home to different religions and cultures, and that diversity should never divide us. Instead, it should remind us of how much we can learn from one another and how much stronger we are when we live in mutual respect and understanding,” he said.
He further called on citizens to reflect on the broader message of Eid by showing kindness, supporting one another, and promoting inclusiveness in society.
“At a time like this, the message of sacrifice and compassion is one we can all reflect on, regardless of our faith. It is a call to be better to one another, to support those around us, and to keep building a country where everyone feels seen and valued,” he added.
Dr. Nwoko wished Muslim families peace, joy, and a meaningful Eid celebration.
“Wishing you and your families peace, joy, and a meaningful celebration. Eid Mubarak,” he said
