Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Saturday cast his vote at Polling Unit 1, St. David Primary School, Afao-Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area during the ongoing governorship election in the state.
Speaking with journalists after voting, Fayose expressed optimism about the prospects of the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, predicting a decisive victory for him at the polls.
The former governor said the political atmosphere across the state and the disposition of residents suggested widespread support for Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
According to Fayose, the governor’s performance and acceptance among the electorate have positioned him strongly for victory.
“Oyebanji has already won the election,” he stated.
“Looking at the situation across the state and the mood of the people, I foresee an overwhelming mandate in his favour,” Fayose added.
Meanwhile, voting commenced smoothly in several polling units across Ekiti State, with security personnel and electoral officials on ground to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
