The federal government of Nigeria has announced that Monday, May 29 will be observed as a public holiday, granting workers nationwide a day off.
The purpose of this declaration is to commemorate the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, scheduled to take place on May 29.
Tinubu’s inauguration will symbolize the successful continuation of democratic governance, marking the 7th consecutive democratic transition of power since Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999.
This historic period has witnessed unbroken democracy for 24 years, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo serving as the first elected President
