He was pushed out of APC through the influence of Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the APC.
He ran to PDP for shelter and was given umbrella to cover. Governor Wike and other PDP governors like Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state spent days in Benin City to ensure he won the election.
