Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that President Bola Tinubu is the only person who can question him over his political activities.
Wike made the statement during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Tuesday night while responding to criticism from some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over his involvement in the Rainbow Coalition.
“The only person that can question me is the President,” Wike said.
The former Rivers State governor also defended his ability to mobilise political support despite no longer being a governor, saying he could convince his people to work together.
Wike criticised politicians who, according to him, spend extended periods in Abuja and only return briefly to their states. He said leadership requires staying close to the people and addressing issues affecting them. His comments followed opposition from the Progressive Governors Forum, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, to political alliances they believe could undermine President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
