It was an emotional moment at the Government House in Asaba as Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori swore in Hon. Moses Ogodo as a Commissioner in the state.
The ceremony took a touching turn after Ogodo took the oath of office and approached the governor in appreciation.
Overcome with emotion, tears of joy were seen rolling down his eyes as he moved to kneel before Oborevwori.
However, the governor quickly stopped him from kneeling and urged him to stand up.
“Don’t kneel down for me. Stand up. We are here to serve Deltans together,” Oborevwori told the visibly emotional commissioner.
The governor’s gesture underscored his message of humility and the spirit of collective service, as he reminded the new commissioner that public office is about serving the people rather than serving individuals.
The emotional scene drew attention from those present at the ceremony, with Ogodo visibly moved by the moment as he wiped away tears of joy.
The swearing-in marks a new chapter in Ogodo’s public service career as he joins the Delta State Executive Council to contribute to the administration’s development agenda.
