At least 30 dead as terrorists storm Naridon village in latest southern Kaduna bloodbath
Gunmen launched a deadly attack on Naridon village in Kamaru ward, Kauru LGA, Kaduna State, in the early hours of Monday, killing at least 30 residents in what Amnesty International describes as one of the deadliest attacks ever recorded in the region.
The assailants struck at approximately 1 am, firing indiscriminately at sleeping villagers and chasing down those who attempted to flee into the bush.
Entire Families Wiped Out
Amnesty International released a damning statement revealing horrifying details of the massacre:
“Gory images obtained by Amnesty International show entire families locked up and slaughtered inside their bedrooms. Children had their throats slit and their heads left with massive cuts. There was blood on beds, in kitchens and on the trails of those bleeding while trying to escape.”
The rights group confirmed that dozens remain missing, with more bodies still being recovered from homes and nearby farms.
Tinubu’s Promises Ring Hollow
Amnesty International took aim at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating:
“President Bola Tinubu claims he has repeatedly tasked security agencies to end the killings so that rural communities can go to bed with their eyes closed, but clearly nothing has changed.”
The organization noted that some villages in southern Kaduna have endured similar attacks more than five times, calling the situation “evidence of failure of authorities to protect the people.”
Authorities Silent
As of press time, the Kaduna Police Command had not issued an official statement. Police spokesperson Mansir Hassan was unavailable for comment, while multiple calls to Governor Uba Sani’s spokesperson, Ibraheem Musa, went unanswered.
