A 25-year-old woman is now in police custody after allegedly taking a sharp knife to her boyfriend’s manhood—because he planned to marry another woman.
The Kano State Police Command confirmed the gruesome attack, which occurred at Durbar Hotel, Badawa, on Monday. According to police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, the suspect, a resident of Maigatari LGA in Jigawa State, confronted her boyfriend in a fit of rage after discovering his intention to wed someone else.
The assault left the victim with a severed manhood. Hotel management alerted the police, and operatives from Badawa Division rushed to the scene. The suspect was arrested on the spot, and the weapon—a sharp knife was recovered as an exhibit.
The victim was immediately evacuated to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care. Police say investigations are ongoing.

The command also arrested three suspects including a husband and wife—over the brutal killing of one Abubakar Auwal, 30. The victim was allegedly lured and beaten into a coma on July 24 over accusations of enticing a married woman. He was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. His body has been deposited for autopsy.
CP Issues Stern Warning
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu-Bakori condemned both acts of violence, warning citizens against taking the law into their own hands.
