Mayor Akpodoro flays calls for Mele Kyari’s sack, says it’s orchestra of blackmail

The Mayor of Urhoboland who is also the National President of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A, Eshanakpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro, has condemned call by a self acclaimed group, Coalition of Delta Ex-Agitators saying the group is faceless and a creation of blackmailers who he said have found occupation in issuing empty threats for pecuniary reasons.

The Mayor stated this in his Mayoral Palace in Ughelli, Delta state at the heels of an emergency stakeholders meeting over the weekend describing the call and subsequent threat as ill motivated with intent to armtwist and stampede the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL, Engr Mele Kyari to succumb to them.

Mayor Akpodoro noted that the faceless group represents the interests of oil thieves whom the Tantita Security Services Nig LTD, the private security firm which is saddled with security and protection of oil infrastructure in the Delta region is combating with vigour.

He noted that the High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo a.k.a Tomopolo owned outfit has tied the noose against the operational jugular of oil thieves in the creeks and they in turn have recruited their footsoldiers to fight Engr. Kyari who is the manager of the national treasure.

The group, in their online publication, had called for the sack of a handful of ministers including appointing a substantial administrator for the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP.

It also issued a September 7, 2024 ultimatum to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in absence of which it threatened to unleash mayhem on the nation prompting the Mayor of Urhoboland to deny knowledge of the group, saying he is the national President of NCNDE-A declaring the group as a “bunch of unknown faceless individuals seeking to blackmail senior officials of the administration.”

According to the Mayor, the Administrator of PAP is substantive and doing the best possible to exit the programmes from the relics of backwardness and righting the wrongs of the past.

‘Lion Hunger’ as they call themselves is a faceless and hungry group reckless illicit oil bunkerers whose criminal enterprise is crumbling down.

“Our GOC Tomopolo is a fountain of peace who leads a league of nation builders and not destroyers and we strongly queue behind him and any ex-agitator who chooses to breakdown the peace in the region will face the dire consequences.

“No ex-agitator issues threat as doing so is overreaching oneself. They should know that any attempt to breach the peace in the region will meet the iron fist of the authority.

“The president has the prerogative of appointing or retaining whoever he wants in his cabinet and can never be threatened or stampeded to fire anyone when he is not willing to do so.

“Show your faces and unveil yourselves to the nation. Governments all over the world do not negotiate with faceless groups. The so-called hunger group should sign off their petition and threats with their names,” the livid Akpodoro stated.

Additionally, the Mayor acknowledged a temporary hardship in the country saying the nation is going through economic rebirth vowing that “nobody can take our country back to the coven of criminals.”

He called on ex-agitators to queue behind the Administrator of the PAP saying Dr. Dennis Otuaro is the best for the job and he represents the interests of all stakeholders in the Niger Delta project. “We are watching the HUNGER LION as their drama unfolds. To every action there must be reactions.”
