Benin’s Oba Ewuare II has summoned every native doctor, river priestess, and occult adherent in his kingdom to a July 10 showdown not with guns, but with curses.
The monarch ordered traditionalists to haul out their full arsenal of charms, shrines, and spiritual gadgets to blast kidnappers, armed robbers, and all criminals plaguing Edo State.
At a palace meeting in Benin City, the Oba declared, “Our ancestors are watching. Evildoers will not destroy this kingdom.” His spokesman, Chief Osaigbovo Osamwonyi, added that the palace has already worked behind the scenes, but now it’s time for raw supernatural firepower.
“After 10 days, return with everything you’ve got we lay curses until peace returns,” he said.
Chief Egboye backed the move, saying, “This is what our forefathers did it never fails.” Priestess Princess Juliet Ehigiamusoe vowed to pull weapons from both land and river to obey the Oba’s command. The goal: let residents sleep soundly again, free from robbery and abduction.
