Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has felicitated Chief Dr. Ighoyota Amori, Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, on the occasion of his 74th birthday.
Dafinone described Amori as a distinguished statesman, consummate political strategist and Pan-Urhobo leader whose decades of public service have contributed significantly to the political development and stability of Delta State.
In a birthday message, Dafinone said Amori’s political journey since 1999 had been characterised by “courage, resilience, loyalty and an enduring commitment” to the growth and stability of the state.
He joined Amori’s family, friends, political associates and well-wishers in thanking God for the gift of his life and for the opportunity to celebrate his 74th birthday.
According to Dafinone, Amori has remained a prominent force in Delta State politics since the return to democratic rule in 1999, contributing to the evolution and stabilisation of governance across successive administrations.
He noted that Amori’s political contributions over the years had helped strengthen political structures while promoting continuity, stability and effective governance in the state.
The Delta Central senator also highlighted Amori’s role as a Pan-Urhobo leader, saying he had consistently demonstrated commitment to the unity, progress and advancement of the Urhobo Nation.
Dafinone, however, said Amori’s interest extended beyond the Urhobo Nation, noting his appreciation of the broader responsibility of building a peaceful, prosperous and united Delta State.
He described Amori’s sustained political relevance as a product not merely of longevity but also of his ability to remain engaged, accessible and responsive to the aspirations of the people.
“These qualities have earned you a distinctive place in the political history of Delta State,” Dafinone said.
As Amori marks the milestone, Dafinone prayed for renewed strength, wisdom, sound health and many more years of purposeful service to Delta State, the Urhobo Nation and Nigeria.
He also expressed hope that the years ahead would bring the celebrant greater fulfilment and provide more opportunities for him to deploy his experience and influence in the service of humanity.
