The senator representing Delta North Senatorial district, Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko has assured the people of Anioma of equitable distribution of empowerment programmes and social infrastructure, irrespective of political affiliation or communal leaning.
Senator Nwoko gave the assurance on Tuesday, June 20, at Asaba while addressing youth representatives from Ukwuani, Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West.
He said he would be the senator for all indigenes and residents of Delta North as the people share common constraints, needs and aspirations.
Senator Nwoko told the youths of Ndokwa nationality that he had a deep knowledge of the challenges of the area and pledged to ensure effective representation that would engender improved quality of life and sustainable development.
Assuring the youths of a better future, the senator said he is poised to initiate regular interaction with political leaders youths as well as oil companies operating in the area to address unemployment, lack of basic amenities, environmental degradation among other problems affecting the generality of the people.
Senator Nwoko, who is the founder and chancellor of the Sports university, Idumuje Ugboko also announced that a campus of the university would be established in Ndokwa land. He said Ndokwa people have appreciable record of excellence in Sports including swimming and hoped the Sports university, would encourage them to become global champions in sporting activities.
According to Nwoko ” As Delta North Senator my agenda is for Anioma people and those who reside in Anioma land. My focus is on everyone ,whether PDP,APC ,LP and so on. Men and women, youths,male and female would be carried along . I understand the difficulties and desires of the people. I will speak and act for everybody and all segments . I assure the constituents of equity while serving as your senator ” Nwoko said amidst intermittent ovation from the youths .
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Mr.Chukwunalu Joseph,representing Ukwuani youths, Mr. Alex Idiwe, Ndokwa East and Mr.Nzete Anslem ,Ndokwa west among other contributors, enumerated joblessness, marginalization by oil firms, flooding, underdevelopment and insecurity as the major problems of the people.They appealed to Senator Nwoko to help take up the issues with the appropriate authorities to alleviate the sufferings of the populace.
The youths noted his monumental contributions to national development ,citing the London -Paris club loans refunds he initiated in favour of the Nigerian economy, the Sports university,first in Africa, scholarships to students and succour to the needy among other patriotic efforts.
The various speakers eulogized the integrity of Senator Nwoko and said they have confidence in his capacity to make impact and change the fortunes of Anioma people for the better.The entourage of Senator Ned Nwoko to the meeting included Dr.Michael Nwoko ,former SSA on Health monitoring to the state government and Mr. John parker an international sports administrator and one of the project coordinators of the Sports university.
