‎The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Dr. Emmanuel E. Sideso Abe I, on Saturday formally presented his autobiography, Odyssey of Royalty – Abe I, at a public ceremony held at the Ovie Palace in Effurun, marking a major milestone in his life and reign.
‎
‎The event drew a distinguished audience of political leaders, traditional rulers, clergy, legislators, and community stakeholders from across Nigeria.
‎
‎In his keynote address, the 83-year-old monarch described the book as a personal and historical record intended to preserve authentic accounts of his journey, leadership experience, and the development of Uvwie Kingdom.
‎
‎Speaking on the motivation behind the autobiography, the monarch said the publication was necessary to document history from a firsthand perspective and to safeguard cultural identity and values for future generations.
‎
‎He noted that the project was encouraged by the Center for Traditional Rulers Advancement and aims to present an unbiased narrative of his era and stewardship.
‎
‎The royal father reflected on his professional career prior to ascending the throne, highlighting three decades of service at the Nigerian Mint.
‎
‎He also acknowledged the professional accomplishments of his family members, citing his wife’s pioneering leadership role in the banking sector and his son’s attainment in the medical field abroad.
‎
‎Reviewing his 18-year reign, the Ovie pointed to key achievements, including the construction of a multi-million naira palace complex completed within record time and broader socio-economic improvements across Uvwie Kingdom.
‎
‎He credited progress in the area to inclusive leadership, community resilience, and collective commitment to development goals.
‎
‎He said his administration adopted a transparency-driven and reform-oriented approach despite early skepticism and operational challenges.
‎
‎The monarch expressed appreciation to the people of Uvwie Kingdom for their loyalty and cooperation, describing them as partners in the kingdom’s growth.
‎
‎He also thanked Delta State authorities for infrastructural upgrades and continued support for the Uvwie education and scholarship scheme.
‎
‎Beyond local matters, the royal address extended to national issues. He commended ongoing federal reform efforts and called for unity, constitutional reforms, and policies that ensure fairness and inclusion for all Nigerians.
‎
‎ He urged collaboration among government officials, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to promote social cohesion, economic empowerment, and ethical leadership.
‎
‎Addressing current transportation and security concerns, he criticized rising domestic airfares and appealed to airline operators to review pricing in the interest of national development, noting that insecurity on road travel has increased dependence on air transport.
‎
‎The monarch encouraged citizens to remain resilient amid national challenges, expressing confidence that the country would overcome its difficulties through perseverance and collective responsibility.
‎
‎The ceremony ended with goodwill messages and royal salutations celebrating Uvwie Kingdom, Delta State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
