A viral video showing a Kannywood actress using a naira note to clean mucus from her nose has led to the arrest of Samha Inuwa by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged currency mutilation.
The Kano Zonal Directorate of the EFCC arrested Inuwa on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, after the footage circulated widely across social media platforms and sparked public outrage.
In the video, the actress was seen conspicuously wiping her nose with naira notes, an act considered a violation of Nigeria’s currency laws.
Following the emergence of the video, the Commission launched an investigation, traced her whereabouts, and effected her arrest for questioning.
She is currently in custody at the EFCC detention facility, where investigations are ongoing.
According to the Commission, Inuwa will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
