A rapidly growing political organizing movement, the Youth Structure for Asiwaju (YS4A), has successfully registered over one million young Nigerians across 12 states of the federation.
The registration, which is being carried out through manual and electronic means, marks a significant milestone in grassroots mobilization and civic engagement.
The movement is championed by its convener, Dr. Michael Nwoko, who serves as the South-South Zonal Coordinator for Contact and Mobilization of the City Boy Movement.
Popularly known as the Asiwaju Boys and Girls, the youth-driven initiative is built around transformative leadership, active political participation, and community development.
By establishing a robust network, the platform allows young progressives to connect, learn, and mobilize for democratic processes, extending from the national framework straight down to local governments and individual voting wards.
The core mission of the Youth Structure for Asiwaju is to empower the next generation with the practical tools, civic knowledge, and institutional layout necessary to influence governance and impact future elections.
Dr. Nwoko and the movement’s organizers emphasize that the platform is fundamentally designed to train and mentor youths, equipping them to step into critical leadership roles in the nearest future.
Rather than letting youth energy become scattered, the movement channels numbers into an organized force capable of driving policy awareness and national progress.
”Political change is never accidental; it is organized, deliberate, and sustained,” Dr. Michael Nwoko said.
With a rapidly growing footprint in 12 states, the leadership of the movement is urging other young Nigerians across the remaining states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to register and join the cause.
“If you are a young Nigerian looking to move beyond passive observation and actively shape the country’s progressive trajectory, the movement welcomes your energy,” Dr. Nwoko noted.
He said becoming an active stakeholder allows you to participate helps first-time voters to maximize their civic rights, acquiring critical skills meant to prepare you for future governance, community organizing, and party roles.
It also helps young Nigerians in using modern communication tools to amplify the challenges and priorities that matter most to youth.
