The serene town of Sapele in Delta state woke up on Thursday morning, January 14, 2021 with the rude shock of a 15-year-old boy who committed suicide and followed hours later by a tricycle driver.
The 15-year-old boy identified as Wisdom Tarbuka, who lived at a story building popularly known as ‘London Compound’ along New Ogorode Road, close to Otite junction by New Road, was said to have drunk Sniper before he slept last night.
It was gathered that he was confirmed dead in the morning when he did not wake up from his sleep.
Residents around the home of the deceased Wisdom Tarbuka, were at shock, wondering what would make a child of that age do a thing of such.
As at the time of visit, the deceased was yet to be moved to the mortuary and people were shedding tears at this unusual loss at the beginning of a year.
While the news of the suicide was yet to die down, a tricycle driver slumped and died at the popular Olympia Roundabout the same morning.
He was suspected to have also drunk sniper.
The tricycle driver was yet to be identified as at the time of filing this report. He was, however, rushed to Sapele Central Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
