17-year-old girl murdered in Ika North East, her blood reportedly drained for rituals

DELTA STATE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION

There was heavy pandemonium in Owa – Alero community in Ika North East local government area of Delta state, following the gruesome murder of a teenage girl by unknown persons suspected to be ritualists.

The murdered girl, according to our sources, left her home last night to purchase some snacks.

It was alleged that the 17 years old girl was stabbed at the upper part of her ribs and a pip inserted through an opening into her body where her blood was said to have been drained.

An witness who saw the lifeless body of the girl said that no part of her body was missing and there was no drop of blood in the scene.

It was also gathered that the late teenager was discovered at a heap of sand a few meters from her house with a bottle of soft drink and a packet of chin chin close to her.

It was learnt that the deceased was a virgin and had speech challenge which was suspected to have made her a victim of organized crime.

Some persons who spoke to our correspondent and preferred anonymity described the incident as ungodly and unprecedented in the community and prayed that divinity will judge the perpetrators of the evil act.

As at the time of filling this report, men of the Nigeria Police and other security agents were already at the scene conducting first hand investigations while an attempt to speak with the parents proved abortive.
