Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his 68th birthday, describing him as a visionary leader whose contributions laid the foundation for the growth and development of modern Delta State.
In a goodwill message issued on Tuesday, Dafinone said he was extending the felicitations on behalf of the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, praising Ibori’s vision, courage and unwavering commitment to public service.
The senator noted that Ibori’s legacy transcends physical infrastructure, emphasizing that his investments in human capital development, inclusive governance and the empowerment of emerging political leaders have continued to shape the state’s political and socio-economic landscape.
According to Dafinone, the former governor’s contributions to democratic governance, national unity and the development of the Niger Delta remain significant milestones in Nigeria’s democratic history.
He further described Ibori as an elder statesman whose counsel, experience and commitment to peace, stability and national progress continue to attract respect across political and ethnic lines.
Dafinone also commended the former governor’s enduring dedication to the development of Delta State and his commitment to the advancement of the Urhobo nation, saying these qualities have endeared him to many who still look up to his leadership and guidance.

May He continue to preserve you as you provide purposeful leadership and invaluable guidance to our nation, Delta State and the Urhobo Nation,” Dafinone said.
He wished the former governor a happy 68th birthday and expressed confidence that his wealth of experience would continue to benefit Delta State, the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.
