Comrade Daniel Ogulah

It is sad and an act of foolery by some self-acclaimed loyalists of the All Progressive Congress ((APC) in Bayelsa State to march through the streets of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja crying that their supposed leader, former minister and governorship candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva was abandoned during the last November 11th governorship poll.

It is also a thing of comic relief that one of the frustrated followers of the supposed leader was caught misquoting a portion of the Bible on the social media “Silver(Sylva) is mine and the gold is mine said the Lord of hosts. ” – Haggai 2:8. It is shamefully laughable indeed!

Merely quoting the 16th President of the United States,Abraham Lincoln, when he said “Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people’” is enough to educate these deluded campaigners against non-acceptability of their defeated boss.

To the people of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva was not only rejected during the November 11th,2023 governorship poll, but had been rejected in 2015 and by the known leaders within the APC.

The rejection, the deluded supporters must know, is not the making of Governor Douye Diri, it is self inflicted and a product of performance and shoddy treatment of those who are genuine followers.

It must be noted that the show of shame by few confused youths, under the guise of APC membership, does not display genuine membership.

Sylva’s rejection, started with the public display of stoning by angry Bayelsans which resulted in his aborted second term bid in 2011. Every decision from there onward showed signs of mis-steps and failures.

Although to many, Sylva radiates a likeable personality but over the years lacks political acceptance. He also lacks the needed spirit of proper consultation with elders but display “bar-like’ interaction with psychophants.

The sycophants should sit and engage in deep thinking. Is it an act of man that whenever Sylva, their boss, seemingly run a perfect campaign, like in 2015 and 2019, something “little” comes up and destroys their expected joy? It is an Act of God!

In democracy, God only speak through Man.. No man is God!

When Sylva refused to allow a democratic space within the State chapter of the Party in 2015,2019 and 2023 to elect a genuine and much acceptable candidate for the general poll, where were the “Abuja protesters”?

When the APC national insisted on fair play in the governorship primaries and Sylva insisted he owns Bayelsa APC, where were the “Abuja protesters?”

When every aggrieved party member was calling for a true reconciliation and cohesion ahead of the governoship poll and Sylva insisted he was the most qualified, where were the “Abuja protesters?”

The rejection by the likes of Chief David Lyon, Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo (deceased) , Rt. Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, Chief (Hon.) Robert Enogha Ayalla and many more showed that Sylva lost the election before the general poll.

When you are truly rejected by the people, the accrued Dollars and promises of Federal Might can not defeat the resolve of the people.

The people of Bayelsa have spoken and thousands of deceitful and Dollar seeking protesters can not change it.
