Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore has criticised Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, after the singer met with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
Davido and his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, visited Wike at his residence on Thursday, following the Osun State governorship election.
A video circulating online showed Davido and Wike discussing the outcome of the election.
Sowore questioned the meeting, particularly amid reports of violence and deaths linked to the election period. He accused political actors of putting their interests ahead of the consequences of the electoral contest.
In a post on X, Sowore specifically criticised Davido for what he described as “genuflecting before Nyesom Wike” and questioned the singer’s interaction with the minister.
The activist also described the political actors involved as “political hustlers” and alleged that their interests ultimately brought them together despite public disagreements.
Reports cited by DAILY POST said supporters of the APC and Accord Party were killed before and during Saturday’s election.Sowore’s criticism has drawn attention to the political implications of Davido’s meeting with Wike and the wider debate over Nigeria’s electoral politics.
