The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Adegboyega Adegoke, has held a closed-door meeting with Allied People’s Movement (APM) chieftain Abdul-Rasheed Olopoeyan ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The meeting took place on Thursday at Olopoeyan’s residence. Adegoke was accompanied by ADC Deputy National Women Leader, Southwest, Kafilat Olayiwola.
Both Adegoke and Olopoeyan were formerly members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before moving to different political parties.
Although neither politician publicly disclosed the purpose of the meeting, sources said the discussions may have focused on the forthcoming Oyo governorship election.
An anonymous source claimed that the two political figures discussed a possible alliance and agreed to work together ahead of the 2027 election.
The meeting comes as political parties and key figures across Nigeria intensify consultations and realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
