Air Peace passengers faced travel turmoil on Monday after a sudden power surge knocked out a critical server, triggering widespread flight delays across the airline’s entire network.
The Nigerian carrier confirmed that the IT meltdown hit its crew scheduling and flight planning systems, leaving technical teams scrambling to restore operations.
“The disruption was caused by a power surge which impacted a critical IT infrastructure server,” Air Peace said in a statement, adding that the glitch forced some flights to push back departure times while engineers worked with service providers to fix the damage.
In an apology to stranded flyers, the airline stressed that safety remains non-negotiable and promised normalcy was in sight.
“We expect the maintenance and restoration work to be completed today, after which flight operations will progressively return to normal,” the statement assured.
Passengers were urged to keep tabs on official Air Peace channels for real-time updates on their rescheduled flights.
