As at Monday, the medals table for the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival is showing Delta having 103 gold, 82 silver and 72 bronze.
Edo is coming behind Delta with 88 gold, 80 silver and 73 bronze while Bayelsa is coming third with 41;gold, 40 silver and 43 bronze.
Rivers, the fourth state is having 24 gold, 24 silver and 39 bronze with Lagos trudging behind.
It is interesting to note that the winning states are all South south states with Lagos the fifth state in the South West.
Okowa had, during the training for the competition, told the athletes that anyone who wins a gold medal will receive one million Naira prize money for the victory.
As at Monday April 12, 2021, Delta had won 103 gold medals, 82 silver and 72 bronze. The governor said one gold equals one million Naira, one silver equals N500,000.
As it is now, N103 million Naira is already waiting for the gold winners, N41million for the silver winners and the bronze winners have their prizes in cash.
Before the sports events will end, more million will still be won by the athletes.
