A six-year-old boy, Pranay Teja, went to school excited to learn—and came home in a body bag. His crime? Incomplete homework.
Pranay collapsed at Little Garden School in Visakhapatnam after his teacher allegedly slapped him and beat him with a stick. His father said the boy was perfectly healthy that morning, even insisting on going to class. Hours later, the family got the call no parent should ever receive.
CCTV footage, viewed by the family, appears to show the teacher striking Pranay just before he fell. He was rushed to King George Hospital, but it was too late.
The family is demanding blood—and swift justice—claiming this wasn’t an isolated incident. Other students, they say, have also suffered physical punishment at the school.
Police have registered a case, and a three-member committee is now investigating. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death. But for Pranay’s parents, the question is painfully clear: How many more children must pay with their lives for a system that still uses sticks over books?
