The Board of Trustees of the Urhobo Leadership Forum, Abuja, has commended Senator Ede Dafinone for his pragmatic leadership style and impactful representation of the people of Delta Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

Led by its Chairman, His Excellency Ambassador Brownson Dede, the Board described the Senator as a committed and accessible representative whose contributions at the Red Chamber have continued to advance the collective interests of the Urhobo nation.

They particularly applauded his principled stance on critical Urhobo issues and his effective legislative engagement.
Among the achievements highlighted by the Board was Senator Dafinone’s intervention that helped secure the release of the Ovie of Ewu, an action they described as timely and courageous. They also praised his open-door policy and accessibility to constituents through initiatives such as his regular Meet-and-Greet forums.

The Board further called on all illustrious sons and daughters of Urhobo land to support Senator Dafinone at all levels of governance, noting that sustained unity and backing are essential for achieving lasting development across Urhobo communities.

During the meeting, the Board briefed the Senator on preparations for a proposed Urhobo National Summit, aimed at drawing national attention to the development needs and strategic importance of Urhobo land. They also sought his support in amending the law establishing the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, to expand its mandate beyond petroleum-related disciplines.

He assured them of his unwavering commitment to promoting the progress of the Urhobo nation and supporting initiatives that foster education, infrastructure, and economic growth.

The Senator disclosed that discussions also focused on the revitalization of the Sapele Port, which he described as a key economic priority. He revealed that funding for the first phase of the port’s renovation has already been secured in the 2025 national budget through the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, reaffirming his resolve to drive sustainable development across Urhobo land.
