Today, December 21, 2022, Prince Ned Nwoko, the incoming Senator for Delta North, is marking 62 years on mother earth. He was born into the royal family of the Nwokos in 1960. Known for his philanthropy, Ned Nwoko is a Nigerian lawyer and a politician who has touched lives across Nigeria and Delta North in particular.
He has rendered humanitarian services to so many people through his Ned Nwoko Foundation. Many youths in Delta North have received his benevolence and are happy to have him emerge as Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria. His humane heart has endeared him to many people who are wishing him the best of life.
Today, being one of his happiest days, people have a lot to say about the iconic Nigerian. First on the roll is Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who is gunning for the vice presidency of Nigeria under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Okowa, in a statement by his chief press secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, said Nwoko, the PDP’s candidate for Delta North senatorial district had contributed immensely to political evolution in Delta and the development of his Idumuje-Ugboko community in Aniocha North local government area of the state.
He lauded the former lawmaker, who represented Aniocha/Oshimili constituency in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003 for his patriotic contributions to the state and country, especially with his malaria eradication project in Africa.
The governor affirmed that Nwoko had continued to make life meaningful for the downtrodden and urged him not to relent in his efforts to meet needs of people around him.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate you on the occasion of your 62nd birth anniversary.
“You have consistently impacted positively on the lives of people irrespective of tribe, religion, social status or political affiliation through your philanthropy.
“Your malaria eradication project in Africa and the establishment of Stars University, Idumuje-Ugboko, are some of your entrepreneurial contributions to job and wealth creation for Deltans and Nigerians.
“As candidate of our great party in the Delta North Senatorial race, I have no doubt that the cap truly fits you as a former member of House of Representatives.
“You have created several jobs and provided many opportunities for our people to utilize their potential and earn a decent means of livelihood through your investments and philanthropy.
“Through your generosity and benevolence, you have also continued to maintain a large, devoted and loyal followership that bestrode the entire Delta and Nigeria.
“It is my prayer that God will continue to grant you a life of more accomplishments even as you strive to represent the good people of Anioma nation,” Okowa added.
In a similar vein, Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of Delta state house of assembly and the Delta PDP governorship candidate, also felicitated with the incoming Delta North Senator just as he said Prince Ned Nwoko is the best specimen of purpose and sacrifice, saying he has impacted many lives positively.
Speaking through his chief press secretary, Dennis Otu, the Delta assembly speaker prayed that God Almighty should continue to provide for Prince Ned Nwoko in order to continue touching lives through acts of philanthropy for which he is known. He described Ned Nwoko as ‘my brother and friend’
He said: “As you turn 62 years old today, I join your family, friends and political associates to celebrate and wish you happy birthday and many happy returns of the day. Your interests in philanthropy, sports and education are profound and deeply rooted. You are the best specimen of purpose and sacrifice”.
Oborevwori noted that as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency from 1999-2003, Prince Ned Nwoko proved himself in the service of his people and used the birthday anniversary occasion to enjoin the people to support Prince Nwoko’s Senatorial ambition.
