Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Monday joined a major endorsement rally in Ebonyi State, throwing his support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and advocating stronger collaboration among progressive political leaders across Nigeria.
Speaking before a large gathering of supporters in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, Soludo described his presence at the event as a solidarity visit, emphasizing the need for progressive forces to work together for national development.
The governor’s remarks were contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.
Standing alongside his host, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, whom he referred to as “my own brother,” Soludo reiterated his commitment to unity, cooperation, and effective governance.
“I am here on a solidarity march with my own brother, the Governor of Ebonyi State, who, by the grace of God, will remain governor until 2031,” Soludo said.
“I am also here because today you are endorsing the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I have come in solidarity because progressives must work together. This is the time for progressives to unite.”
The Anambra governor acknowledged the economic and social challenges facing the country but expressed confidence in the efforts of the Federal Government to address them.
He further disclosed that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would soon articulate its position on strengthening a broader coalition of progressive-minded political actors across the country.
Addressing the Igbo people, Soludo urged a departure from what he described as politics driven by grievances and protests, advocating instead for constructive engagement and partnerships that would advance the region’s interests.
“To my fellow Igbo brothers and sisters, the era of lamentation politics should be behind us. We must move from an alliance of protest to an alliance for progress—one that promotes prosperity and development for Ndigbo. We must unite and ensure that our votes count towards our collective advancement,” he said.
The rally ended with renewed pledges of support for President Tinubu’s administration and a commitment to fostering political cooperation across party lines in pursuit of national development.
