The National Vice Chairman of Labour Party, South-South, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, has blamed the poor development of Aniocha North local government area on misappropriation of funds allocated to the council.
Chief Ezeagwu, who stated this on Wednesday at Onicha-Uku during LP rally, said the socio-economic development of the area had been stalled over the years owing to mismanagement of huge amount of money meant to develop the local government.
The LP National Vice Chairman, who is from Ezi in the council area, called on the people to reject the persons who have been mismanaging the huge sums of money meant for their welfare and development and vote for Labour party chairmanship candidate, Dr Augustine Ojogbo, and all the councillorship candidates to change the administrative and development narrative of the area.
‘Labour Party is out to ensure free and fair election and our candidates are out with the commitment to contribute for accelerated development of Aniocha North local government”, Chief Ezeagwu said.
Former Delta State governorship candidate, Deacon Ken Pela who also spoke at the rally, urged the people of Aniocha North to repeat their previous performances of voting massively for LP on Saturday.
“You did it last year by voting enmasse for labour party during the National Assembly, Presidential, governorship and House of Assembly elections.
“I want you to come out in your large numbers on Saturday and vote massively for LP candidates to enthrone development-oriented and purposeful leadership to stear the ship of the local government council on the path of sustainable development”, Deacon Pela stated.
Also speaking the chairmanship candidate, Dr Augustine Ojogbo, urged the people of the area to come out massively and cast their votes for LP candidates for accountability and accelerated development anchored on good and God fearing leadership.
He told the people of the area that voting for LP candidates is a vote for a new dawn for socio-economic and political development of the local government.
He thanked the people of the various communities for their support and encouragement and assured them that a vote for him and the councillorship candidates is a vote for agricultural development, wealth creation, education rebirth, livelihood empowerment, ethical rejuvenation, security, good health facilities, transformation and prosperity.
