Prominent Niger Delta human rights activist and development advocate, Chief Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has urged political actors to stop distracting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and state governors with premature and self-serving endorsements for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking recently in Abuja, Chief Mulade, who is also the Ibe Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, criticized influential Nigerians for pushing political agendas aimed at preserving their positions and contracts. He described such actions as detrimental to the nation’s development.
“I appeal to highly placed Nigerians to stop distracting the President and Governors over the 2027 general elections, which are still more than two years away,” he said. “These moves are driven by selfish interests, not national progress.”
Mulade emphasized that President Tinubu has spent less than two years in office and is still working to fulfill his electoral promises. He warned that political maneuvering and early endorsements serve only as distractions that hinder governance.
He also cautioned Tinubu to be wary of sycophants and political jobbers who engage in flattery for personal gain. Instead, he advised the President to focus on his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly addressing issues such as insecurity, economic hardship, and poor governance.
Chief Mulade concluded by calling on all patriotic Nigerians to prioritize national interest over personal ambition, stating that Tinubu does not need endorsements to secure re-election—only a record of fulfilled promises.
