Party chairman says early submission proves APC’s organizational readiness for next general elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has completed uploading its full list of candidates for all elective positions in the 2027 general elections onto INEC’s portal — days before the original deadline.
National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda announced the milestone at the weekend, revealing that the exercise covered everything from State Houses of Assembly to the presidency across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“We did not wait until the last minute. We planned ahead, coordinated our structures and ensured that our candidates were successfully uploaded before the expiration of the original deadline,” Yilwatda said in a statement by his media adviser, Abimbola Tooki.
The completion came as INEC later extended the submission deadline from August 8 to August 11, 2026 — a move that benefited other parties still scrambling to meet the requirement.
Yilwatda framed the early submission as evidence of the party’s discipline and capacity to govern, urging Nigerians to evaluate political parties not just on promises but on organizational competence.
“This is what organisation, discipline and responsible political leadership mean,” he stated.

“The work has only begun. Completing the upload ahead of schedule gives us confidence, but it also places a greater responsibility on us,” Yilwatda added.
