Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has warned his supporters against insulting APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his presidential ambition.
As you may know, both Osinbajo and Tinubu are eyeing the APC 2023 presidential ticket.
Since the duo made their presidential ambition known to the general public, it has elicited exchanges between their supporters.
Some supporters of Tinubu had accused Osinbajo of being an ingrate by not supporting Tinubu’s presidential quest despite what Tinubu did for him politically and this led to the Vice president’s supporters retaliating.
Addrssing this, Osinbajo revealed he is against any one abusing Tinubu and has therefore warned his supporters: “Even if his supporters abuse my mother, don’t retaliate. On no account must he be insulted or denigrated.”
This was revealed by close sources.
The sources also revealed that a major plank of Osinbajo’s support base is the northern emirs, who consider him to have shown uncommon loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the sources, four Northern Governors, two from the North-West and two from the North-Central are also rooting for the Vice President.
However, Tinubu is said to be more popular in the north.
