On Wednesday 25th November 2020, after months of consultations with my supporters and leaders of both PDP and the APC at state and National level, I defected from the People Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the Floor of the Senate.
On Thursday 26th November 2020, Some People Democratic Party ( PDP) leaders from Adamawa state Led by the Deputy State chairman Hon. Deacon Timothy Audu Vimtim visited me in my office to inform me that they are moving with me to the APC.
The President of the Senate held a closed door meeting with the PDP Leaders from Adamawa state and thereafter led us to the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) where we were formally received into the Party by the Acting National Chairman and his NWC.
I was presented the flag of the APC on behalf of all those that followed me to the APC.
Soon I will be in Yola to sign the party register with my supporters and APC faithfuls.
I promise you that the next few months will be interesting and rewarding to the people of Adamawa state because I believe that the essence of political office is to serve God through service to humanity.
I want to say a Special Thankyou to the President of the Senate and Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani for their unflinching support.
The boundaries are now clear.
