OSOGBO – No room for nonsense.
The Commissioner of Police for the Osun governorship election, Samuel Etaifo, has declared that a staggering 15,000 security operatives will be deployed for Saturday’s poll – and any troublemaker will be flown straight to Abuja to face the music.
Speaking on Wednesday in Osogbo, Etaifo said the massive force includes conventional cops, special units, dog handlers, medics, and the Police Mobile Force. A DIG and an AIG are also jetting in to oversee the high-stakes exercise.
“We should be expecting nothing less than 15,000,” he stated flatly.
The CP, who was deployed early due to rising tensions, fired a stern warning: “Anyone caught acting against free and fair elections – no matter your rank – will face full consequences. Arrested violators will be moved straight to Abuja. This is a federal election. Nobody stays in Osun.”
With 14 candidates, including incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, battling for the state’s top seat, the police are taking zero chances.
Bottom line: Come vote, not fight – or risk a one-way trip to the capital.
