BREAKING: Obaseki in trouble, his family members endorse Ize-Iyamu for Edo 2020 (photos)

There seems to be some level of disunity in the family of the Governor Obaseki of Edo state. Obaseki is contesting the September 19 governorship election in the state. It is expected that members of his immediate and extended family should team up with him to win the election. But there seems to be crack somewhere.

On Saturday, August 1, 2020, his archrival in the race to the Edo government house, Osagie Ize-Iyamu posted the endorsement from some members of the Obaseki family who reportedly visited him for endorsement for the September election. This appears some members of the Obaseki family are aggrieved with their brother.

Osagie Ize-Iyamu twitted on Saturday morning thus: “This morning, I received the endorsement of the prominent Obaseki family at a meeting led by Mr. Osaro and Victor Obaseki. Like the governor’s aides and appointees, members of his family agree he has failed Edo people and doesn’t deserve re-election.

“In their words, “Generally, the Obasekis have their own way of doing things. The different branches of the Obaseki family, we are supporting our brother, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. We will do all our campaigns for him fully, without let or hindrance.

“I’m very grateful to them for their courage and selflessness. They have even gone ahead to produce and donate beautiful face caps as a demonstration of their love and support.

“It takes great love for state and the people to make such brave decision to sideline all sentiments and ties and back the better candidate. I’m not going to disappoint them & millions of Edo people at home & in the diaspora who, daily, reaffirm their support.”

But one DMAVERICK @Marvinog replying to @PastorIzeIyamu, said: “Please who is Osaro or Victor Obaseki? Hungry lazy members of a prosperous family, children who all through their lives have been a disgrace to their illustrious cousins and brothers. Never has any of them done anything meaningful other than police case, Edo is tired of agberos.”
